Independent mental health advocates

If you are in hospital under section, or being treated under a community treatment order, you can get free, independent and confidential advice from an independent mental health advocate.

Independent mental health advocates are specialist advocates who help you understand your rights under the Mental Health Act and make sure your voice is heard in decisions about your care and treatment.

You can also ask for an Independent mental health advocate to see a patient if you are a nearest relative
