The Affective Disorders Outpatient Service (Maudsley Hospital) is a national, specialist outpatient service at the Maudsley Hospital. We provide assessment, treatment and care for people, aged over 18, who have complex or treatment-resistant mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder. National services are for people who live throughout the United Kingdom.

We offer a range of treatments including relationship therapy, couple therapy and occupational therapy.

Couple therapy helps one or more members of the family who have problems with relationships. It helps them to understand their symptoms and teaches them the skills they need to improve communication.

We provide advice and recommendations on future treatment, including referrals to our inpatient service if required.
