Summary:
The Forensic Community Team provides a Tier 3 child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS). We are based at Mapother House, Maudsley Hospital.  We assess, treat and care for children and young people, aged 12-18, who have complex mental health problems and who live in the London Borough of Southwark.

The Forensic Community Team cares for people with offending histories who, with appropriate care and treatment, pose a low risk to the public. The teams of health and social care professionals work with the police, public protection unit and the local Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) team to manage people in the community.

Tier 3 CAMHS are provided by a team of specialists in a community mental health clinic or a hospital outpatients clinic. This level of service is for children and young people with severe and complex problems, which they have had for some time.

We visit people in the centre, their school or home. We work with the Youth Offending Team (YOT), a drug and alcohol worker and a member of the Southwark Team for Early Intervention in Psychosis (STEP).
