Cause of death data from Office of National Statistics (ONS) – CRIS has now linked cause of death information to all SLAM patients with a date of death.

ONS Mortality data: Before giving approval however, applicant would have to submit an application to ONS to become an ONS Approved Researcher. The following conditions that are expected from people completing projects using ONS Mortality data.


Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) – this data is derived from information (mainly structured) collected from general hospital episodes. We do not have approval to use/specify records for children i.e. <16 year olds.
