Summary:
The Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS) is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are a team that provides assessment, care and intervention for children and young people, up to the age of 18, who have mental health difficulties. We care for children and young people who are looked after by the London Borough of Lambeth.

We work with a very diverse population that are often the most vulnerable children and young people, who have experienced trauma including sexual, emotional and physical abuse as well as complex mental health needs.

Our aim is to provide stability for the children, and young people that see us, and to support their mental health and wellbeing.  We also provide regular consultation and support to foster carers, social workers and other professionals involved when there is a concern, and we also run regular training courses for foster carers.

Our team members come from varied backgrounds that can include child and adolescent psychiatrists, mental health social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as art, music and drama therapists.

We are based at the Lambeth Civic Centre where most of our appointments take place. We can also see children and young people at one of the other community Lambeth CAMHS mental health centres.
