Bethlem’s grounds are currently closed to the general public due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bethlem Royal Hospital moved to its current site in 1930. The site was previously occupied by Monks Orchards House and orchards have been part of the grounds for centuries.
You can explore Bethlem’s extensive, beautiful grounds by following a walking trail:
The hospital’s walled garden is open for visitors from Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 2pm. Our patients and service users benefit from both the garden and the orchard, learning a variety of horticultural skills.
