Support for NHS health workers fighting Ebola

SLaM psychologists and psychotherapists support health workers to get the most from their volunteering experience. Humanitarian work can be enriching and rewarding as well as physically, mentally and emotionally, challenging.

We offer volunteers an informal opportunity to talk with a professional, the contact with us can help promote positive coping methods and offer resilience enhancement.

Our psychology and psychotherapy staff are highly qualified as clinical or counselling psychologists to doctoral level or experienced psychotherapists. We talk with volunteers:

  • Before deployment to discuss positive and realistic goals for their mission.

  • Regularly during deployment in Sierra Leone to discuss practices that will keep volunteers in good health

  • After returning back from Sierra Leone to reflect on their mission and discuss adjustment to life in the UK.

Contact us on and one of our psychologists will be in touch within 72 hours
