Pharmacists at Maudsley Hospital accepted delivery of the millionth Covid-19 vaccination for South East London on Thursday 22 April. This is an exciting moment in the roll-out of the vaccine in our local communities. It is a positive sign that so many of our colleagues, and people in the borough we serve, are being protected against Covid-19.
David Bradley, Chief Executive of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust said: “I am very proud of our vaccination team who have worked tirelessly to ensure our staff and people who use our services are protected against Covid-19. Thank you for all your hard work. The vaccine is the best protection against Covid-19 – I would urge everyone to take up the offer of the vaccine when it is your turn.”
Remy Wesolowski, Clinical Lead for the vaccine programme said: "This is a fantastic milestone in the rollout of the vaccine in South East London.
“We have a wonderful team of vaccinators at South London and Maudsley who, along with the wider multidisciplinary vaccine programme team have worked tirelessly over the last few months to protect our most valuable asset - our staff, who provide outstanding care for our service users and their carers each day.
“The programme has been a fantastic learning experience for all those contributing to its success. The Team has laughed together, cried together, virtually hugged each other and readied ourselves each day to vaccinate as many people as possible."
