Reference management software allows you to effectively manage references for reports, articles and systematic reviews and automatically create in-text references and bibliographies for your work. You can use reference management software to organise the information that is important to you and have quick access to important documents when you need them.
What reference management software is available
The free reference management software Mendeley is approved for use within the Trust, subject to local IT policies. Contact Digital Services to request an install on your computer.
Mendeley provides reference management software to help you get the most out of research. Transfer existing PDF documents from your hard drive to form a reference library, or export references in RIS format from the Reay House Library catalogue or from the NHS healthcare databases available through OpenAthens. Create subfolders to organise your research and use the Mendeley plug in for Microsoft Word to save time while writing by inserting references quickly and easily in to essays, reports and articles.
Mendeley is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. The software allows you to store references and PDFs and read, review and annotate documents. Download Mendeley for desktop.
