We provide the most comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) services in England and Wales with the most diverse range of specialist outpatient services for children, young people and their families.
We deliver community services for young people and children in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon and specialist services in London, the UK and internationally; as well as inpatient services for London and the south east. We also provide services for British Forces in Germany and Gibraltar and the Middle East.
Referrals are accepted for community services and national specialist services dealing with a wide range of disorders including autism, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), learning disabilities, eating disorders, self-harm, and emotional disorders.
We have been working as part of the South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP) to develop new models of care for CAMHS. This work has already made an impact, for example with more joined-up management of south London CAMHS beds contributing to a 38% reduction in overall bed days in out of area placements.
Together with our SLP partners we are investing in and improving crisis care and alternative to admission services for children and young people across south London.
In April 2018 we opened a new eight-bed adolescent PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) for patients from across the partnership, increasing our local capacity.
The SLP has also won a new contract from NHS England to develop and run a community forensic CAMHS service This will allow specialist local assessment, advice and consultation for high-risk young people with complex needs. Local pathways are being developed so more young people can access specialist assessment and care closer to home.
