Course outline:
Mental health liaison services have expanded nationally as part of the NHS Five Year Forward plan and will continue to play a pivotal role in providing crisis mental healthcare and working at the interface of physical and mental health across the UK.Liaison services work in diverse and challenging environments which demand a unique set of knowledge and skills.

This four-day course offers learners an opportunity to build on their existing skills through a series of lectures, workshops, and simulation training sessions that draw on the rich expertise of the Maudsley and associated liaison teams, as well as Maudsley Learning and Maudsley Simulation. This course would be appropriate to any clinical staff who wish to improve their knowledge of liaison services,including psychiatric liaison and other mental health nurses, medical trainees in psychiatry, as well as general medical doctors and nurses with an interest in working at the mind/body interface.

Nursing staff (general or mental health-trained).
Psychologists and allied health professionals with an interest in liaison mental health.
Doctors of all specialties with an interest in mental health.
