Specialist Smoking Cessation Clinic - Maudsley
Services Provided:
Treatment offered varies from individual advice to multi-session supportive group programme comprising 7 weekly sessions. In addition to support in a group or one to one smokers will be assessed for their suitability to take nicotine replacement therapy (patches, lozenges, gum, nasal spray, inhalator, or sublingual tablet),Varenicline (Champix) or bupropion (Zyban) to help relieve nicotine withdrawal symptoms and craving. Successful quitters are also offered relapse prevention support for a year after stopping smoking. Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary team including a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist and therapist.
The service is for:
The service provides specialist outpatient treatments for male and female smokers from age 16 upwards who want to stop smoking. Help is also provided for individuals who have become dependant on other non-tobacco nicotine products
Opening Times:
9am-5pm, Monday - Friday, with evening clinics once a week.
