The Personality Disorders Service is a national, specialist day service in The Cawley Centre, at the Maudsley Hospital. We provide assessment, treatment and care for people, aged over 18,who have complex personality disorders.
National services are for people who live throughout the United Kingdom.
As well as one-to-one and group therapy, we provide therapeutic activities including drama, cooking, art and gardening.
We provide rehabilitation to help maintain people’s health and to help them live more independently in their communities.
We also provide an outpatient cognitive analytic therapy service (CAT) for people who do not need the intensive treatment offered in the day unit. CAT is a talking treatment, that helps people to see how early relationships and experiences have affected how they see themselves, other people and how they behave. It usually involves 16 weekly sessions and focuses on a problem that is important to that person.
