Celebrating social enterprise

Lambeth Carpet Cleaning Care has recently undertaken its 1000 job.

The social enterprise group was originally set up in Tooting Bec Hospital by staff and a group of patients who wanted to gain work skills, confidence and earn money.

Today the project is located in Brixton and operated by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. It's had many successes including the continual positive engagement of service users from across the borough.

15 staff work on the project which offers both domestic and industrial carpet cleaning services. Workers on the project have a big influence on how the project is run.

One project worker said: "It's the best project for me, it gets me out and about every week. I earn some money and I like the other people on the project. It is a very satisfying feeling for me when the job is done and it keeps me in touch with working life and future possibilities."
