The experienced experts available via Maudsley International are based at the Institute of Psychiatry and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in south London, two world-renowned centres of excellence in the field of mental health, who work together.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provides the most extensive portfolio of mental health services in the UK, and has a history that dates back to the foundation of the Bethlem Royal Hospital in 1247. It is a leading innovator of care in the community and runs the largest child and adolescent mental health service in the country. Staff offer training and clinical experience to students and mental health professionals from around the world.

The Institute of Psychiatry, a school of King's College London, is the Lead World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Research in Europe and its academics are involved in many projects that involve collaboration between research groups and health professionals in all continents. Students from around the world come to London for its highly respected postgraduate programme of education and training. The Institute of Psychiatry's prize-winning researchers are responsible for a huge portfolio of research, from developing new cost-effective treatments to basic neuroscience and population-based studies, and they support and help PhD students carrying out research both in the UK and overseas.

Maudsley International utilises the knowledge and skills of staff from both the Institute of Psychiatry and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to help partners based around the globe meet the needs of people with mental ill health, and to promote mental health.
