IMPaCT research programme

IMPaCT is a research programme designed to improve physical health and reduce substance use in people with psychosis.

The Department of Health sees IMPaCT as a priority because the treatment we are testing could be key in motivating people with severe mental illness to improve their physical health and therefore drive down preventable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

IMPaCT is helping mental health service users achieve their physical health goals, and make the lifestyle choices they want, whether they are healthier eating, exercising more, smoking less or drinking less.
